End of Summer..

"A Good End of Summer"

I love fall! Fall is exciting..It's apples and cider..
It's an airborne spider..It's pumpkins in bins..

It's burrs on dog's chins..It's wind blowing leaves..
It's chilly red knees..It's nuts on the ground..

It's a crisp dry sound..It's green leaves turning..
And the smell of them burning..It's clouds in the sky..

It's fall. That's why...
I love fall..

House Cleaning Blues..

House Cleaning Blues

I have the house cleaning blues..
I look around and see so much to do..
I look at the walls, the windows, and the floors..
I see heaps of dust layered like boards..

What I need is a good house cleaning crew..
But where to get one, I haven't a clue..
I asked for volunteers, but none would relent..
Their community spirit, it seems, had been spent..

I could wish for an occasional hurricane..
For me, that may not be such a bad thing..
I could raise the windows and open the doors..
And be done with these house cleaning chores..

But hurricanes don't occur where I live..
So its left up to me to clean this crib..
I have devised a plan to get the job done..
Since I can no longer depend on anyone..

My plan is as simple as it can be..
One that is not very taxing on me..
My walking shoes I will lace up tight..
And from this nightmare I will take flight ..

Spring..

"Our Spring Garden"

Here is my little garden..
Some seeds I'm going to sow..
Here is my rake to rake the ground..
Here is my handy hoe..

Here is the big round yellow sun..
The sun warms everything..
Here are the rain clouds in the sky..
The birds will start to sing..

Little plants will wake up soon..
And lift their sleepy heads..
Little plants will grow and grow..
In their little warm earth beds..

Blott stjärnorna ser dig från himmelens häll
De blinkar åt alla små barnen i kväll
Och alla de barnen de somnar som du
Och månen går vakt i det blå
Och inget kan hända dig då

Recept..

"Gnagarkakor"

Du behöver:
700 g mjöl
5 dl vatten
½ msk honung
½ dl olja

Ställ ugnen på 75 grader.
Blanda alla ingredienserna till en jämn deg.
Av degen gör du små kakor
som du lägger på en plåt med bakplåtspapper.
Grädda i ugnen i minst 2 timmar,
tills kakorna har fått en ljusbrun färg.
De skall vara helt hårda.
Tips: Ta två teskedar och gör kakorna med,
så slipper du att kladda ner fingrarna.
OBS! Kaniner, marsvin och hamstrar kan äta kakorna!
